Tango afternoon in Valois Park (July-August 2007)


Initiation class and afternoon tango were a great success each Sunday. Tango dancers came from all Vaudreuil-Soulanges area, and from Montreal, Laval and the south shore. People also stopped to relax, read and enjoy the music.

Montreal International Tango Festival 2007

FITM 2007

Émilie & Louis were invited to present a tango demonstration during the festival at the night milonga (July 11th). Vaudreuil-Soulanges growing argentine tango community has therefore been represented during this festival!

                       


Starjam 2007

On the 2nd and 3rd of June 2007, Émilie & Louis were invited to participate to the Starjam 2007, a show organised by Joyce Rudisel at the Albert-Dumouchel Theatre of Valleyfield. The tango presentation was a collaborative creation with Martin Pacione (singer, Montréal) and Maryse & Claude, from the "Salon de tango" of Valleyfield.

                  

   


Workshops with Tomás Howlin & Spring Milonga (26th May 2007)
Workshops with Tomás, our guest teacher for the day, were a great moment to work on the intimacy of argentine tango. The milonga (tango bal) in the evening was a great sucess with more than 40 tango dancers! Dancers of Vaudreuil-Soulanges area, but also from Montreal, Chambly and even St-Eustache! Passion and music continue until 2 am.

Opening of Alexandr Vichnevski's exhibition at Île-Perrot (6th May 2007)

On the 6th of May 2007, Île-Perrot's library was lunching a month long exhibition of the recent pictural works of Alexandr Vichnevski. Mme Chantale Lepage, library director, has organised this lovely day.

Émilie & Louis have performed the openning tango demonstration.

After, tango lovers have enjoyed the nice weather and the music while dancing on the garden's floor.

Agata & Gerardo, founders of the Montreal International Tango Festival, have performed the closing demonstration at the end of the afternoon.

Émilie & Louis, answered questions about argentine tango in Vaudreuil-Soulanges area.

There has been a nice cover of the event in the local newspaper "L'étoile", edition of the 9th of May 2007 (vol. 40, #19). Émilie and Louis appear on the cover page, p. 20 and p. 38. Alexandr and Martin Pacione also appear in the newspaper. See the online version of the newspaper. There was also an article by Lyse Catudal in "Your Local Journal", Thursday, May 10, 2007, p. 9.
